Traffic and parking problems around our schools appeared as a major issue at Council's last Hot Topics meeting. Here we look more closely at the issue and the actions we can all take.

Over 40 years of research has shown how important getting parents engaged in learning and schooling is for their children's wellbeing. Earlier this year the ACT Government funded a project to better define effective parent engagement in the ACT and to help schools understand and measure it in their communities.

The ACT Council of Parents & Citizens Associations welcomes the judgement handed down by the High Court of Australia in relation to Ronald Williams v Commonwealth Of Australia & ORS (2014).

We represent parent views to government and lobby for changes parents want.

All our Working Groups function by email, and the occassional online meeting. For most, the time commitment can be very little, or up to 5 hours per term, depending on how much you wish to be involved.

Elected Council representatives voice parent concerns to Government. 

The environment teacher, parents and students at Wanniassa Hills Primary School recently joined forces to create an innovative hothouse made from PET bottles! The original inspiration and design for the hothouse came from an article discovered on the internet.
