Parents praise ACT signing of National Education Reform Agreement

The ACT Council of Parents & Citizens Associations congratulates the ACT Government for today’s signing of the National Education Reform Agreement, which should see significant additional funding for education in the ACT from both the federal and ACT Governments.

The Council’s Acting President, Mr John Haydon, said “We congratulate the Chief Minister Katy Gallagher for what is a promising development for ACT public education and we look forward to the increased funding that must flow through to all ACT public schools.”

He added that “ACT public schools have significant immediate short and long term needs that we hope can now be addressed. We look forward to working with the Education Minister Joy Burch to ensure the fair and equitable distribution of the increased funding amongst our schools.”
