Parents welcome flashing lights in school zones

Responding to the Canberra Liberals’ recent policy announcement, the ACT Council of Parents and Citizens Associations (Council) welcomes flashing signs in school zones.

“‘The ACT Council of Parents and Citizens Associations has for some time lobbied for the installation of flashing signs in school zones in the ACT and is pleased to see the ACT Liberals promise to install flashing signs in school zones if elected in October,” said John Haydon, Council President.

Council believes that the safety of students and members of the school community is a priority. Strategies like flashing signs ensure that our schools are a safer environment for students to learn in.

School traffic and road safety is a key aspect of Council’s 2016 ACT election priorities
