From sausage sizzles to uniform shops, committee meetings to community events, your time, energy and dedication make a real and lasting impact in our schools.
It’s also been a big few months here at ACT Parents - our new name for Council.
Alongside our ongoing support for members and strong advocacy for public education, we’ve been laying the groundwork for a major transformation of our organisation.
This work is all about one thing: making sure we can better support you and strengthen the voice of public school families across the ACT.
A key milestone has been the approval of our updated constitution. This brings our governance in line with modern best practice, giving us more flexibility and clearer processes to meet the needs of our member communities.
We’ve also introduced a new fee structure that is more equitable and sustainable, setting us up to continue delivering meaningful advocacy and support into the future.
And we’re not stopping there. Very soon you’ll start to see some exciting changes. We’ll be launching a new visual identity that reflects who we are today and where we’re heading. A refreshed, more user-friendly website is also on the way, making it easier for P&Cs and member representatives to access the tools and information they need.
We’re also introducing a new member management system to improve communication, streamline event registration and help us stay better connected with you.
This transformation has been a shared effort, shaped by the input and ideas of our members. We’re proud of how far we’ve come, and even more excited about what lies ahead. Thank you for being part of the journey.
Wishing you a well-earned and restful break over the holidays. We look forward to reconnecting in Term 3 and continuing this important work together.
Warmly,
Liane Joubert
President, ACT Parents.
