The ACT Council of Parents & Citizens Associations believes parents will welcome the extension to the provision of Rapid Antigen Tests in schools announced by the ACT Government today.

Commenting on today's announcement of back to school plans, Alison Elliott, President of the ACT Council of Parents and Citizens Associations (the peak body for public school parents) said:

"The basis of these plans look familiar to parents – it's similar to what we had for Term 4 last year. We know that many parents are confident in and support those measures - things like cohorting, masks for year 7 and above, reminders that people stay away if unwell, ventilation and outdoor learning."

Council has used several formal opportunities this year to present to government a schools wish list which represents parents, carers and P&Cs.

As the ACT’s single-use-plastics ban comes into effect for a small number of plastic items, some P&Cs are going above and beyond the ban — reducing the plastics they use and pressuring manufacturers to follow suit.
