National Curriculum for Students with Disabilities posted on 2011-10-25
The Australian Curriculum and Reporting Authority (ACARA) is currently working on the draft National Curriculum for Students with Disabilities. At the moment, they are consulting on draft curricula covering English and mathematics.

Parents who wish to make their own submissions are encouraged to do so directly via the ACARA website. Council is also making a submission. If you are a parent of or carer for a student with a disability, we would be very grateful to hear your comments on our draft submission. We will use your comments in finalising our submission, so that we can better represent the views of ACT parents.

If you wish to send in some comments, please email us at contact@actparents.org.au by 2.30 pm on Friday 28 October. We apologise for the short notice, but we need to submit our final copy by Tuesday 1 November.

Update 26/10:
To assist parents who may not have time to read the full curricula, Tim Lawley (Council's Policy Officer) has put together a summary of the documents and Council's main comments on them. You can view it here.
